James Jacob (also known as Jakwob) is a music producer and composer based in East London. Recent production, songwriting credits and collaborations include, Little Simz, Nia Archives, Jorja Smith, Shygirl, Joy Crookes, Glass Animals, Erin LeCount and Josh Baker. His screen work includes scoring Molly Manning Walker’s BAFTA-nominated feature How To Have Sex (Film4) in 2023, followed by her forthcoming A24 series Major Players. In 2025, he scored the BAFTA-nominated series What It Feels Like For A Girl (BBC3), directed by Brian Welsh, as well as the Amazon feature My Fault: London, directed by Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler. He continued scoring the franchise in 2026 with both Your Fault: London, also directed by Girdwood and Fassler, and Our Fault: London, directed by Chanya Button.


Alongside his screen work, James co-composed the music for Suzie Miller’s Olivier Award-winning Inter Alia with Erin LeCount, which premiered at the National Theatre before transferring to the West End, with Rosamund Pike winning the 2026 Olivier Award for Best Actress.
